DESSIN at Open Days in Brussels
On 14th October, 2015, adelphi visited the Brussels Open Days conference on behalf of the DESSIN project. Founded in 2003, this is an annual four-day event where cities and regions showcase their capacity to create employment and growth, and demonstrate the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance and the implementation of its cohesion policy. This year, about two out of three participants came from local, regional, national or EU administrations.
Therefore, this event is of key interest to the DESSIN project, as main clients and stakeholders for water technology are administrators on the local and regional level. adelphi participated in several workshops, and one interactive session on research & innovation and SME competitiveness hosted by the EU programme. Numerous participants were eager to learn more about the ESS valuation methodology developed by DESSIN and its innovative approach to innovation promotion via “solution packages” of complementary technologies. The Open Days will be visited in the following project years as well, as they are an ideal networking platform for reaching experts in regional and local development.
