DESSIN at EIP Water

DESSIN scientist Marta Hernández presented the DESSIN project during the EIP Water 2^nd Annual Conference that took place in Barcelona on 4^th-6^th of November. The European Innovation Partnership on Water – EIP Water in short – has taken a central role on the European water innovation landscape, providing a platform for all actors in the field of water and innovation.

The DESSIN project participated in the session called “Ecosystem Services: Market Challenges and Opportunities”. This workshop focused on identifying opportunities offered by EU Initiatives for developing markets for ecosystem services, analyse the challenges that need to be tackled and, provide guidance on how successful connection among the both of them takes place in selected projects.

The attendants of the conference had the opportunity to visit the Drinking Water Treatment Plant of Sant Joan Despí (one of the demo sites of DESSIN). Next to visiting the water treatment works operated by Aigües de Barcelona, the participants also saw the full-scale injection well in the plant and the recently installed observation network for the demonstration phase of the Barcelona case study.
